Rich Preuss is an award-winning live and live-to-tape multicamera television Director. In the last 25+ years, he’s worked in all forms of variety television from in-studio comedy shows, large-scale award shows, red carpet specials, comedy specials, dog shows, cooking competition programs, corporate events, e-sports, and even SpaceX rocket launches and splashdowns. He’s an internationally recognized director having directed projects around the world for a multitude of clients.
After a whirlwind 2025, directing shows in Tokyo, Brazil, Germany, and throughout the U.S., Rich capped it off by directing “The Game Awards” live globally across multiple platforms with performances and appearances by Evanescence, Lenny Kravitz, the Muppets, and more. The viewership for “The Game Awards” was a staggering and record-breaking 171 million livestreams.
Most recently, Rich directed Emmys Nights 1 and 2 (fka Creative Arts Emmys) where they presented 100 Emmy Awards over two nights including an emotional posthumous acting Emmy to Rob Reiner. The two nights were edited into one broadcast for Hulu and FXX.
He has also directed and been the show caller for numerous corporate events for clients including Apple and LinkedIn.
Rich has won a Primetime Emmy, and a Peabody Award.
